Friday Favorites (10/16)

Things I’m loving this week…

To remind your friends that voting is important while still being cute and stylish! You can use code ‘Totzke15’ for 15% off. And while I have your attention – register to vote here.

2. Makeup: bareMinerals – Strength & Length Serum-Infused Mascara

BareMinerals has always been one of my favorite makeup brands; they made switching to clean beauty very easy for me. This product is currently sold out, but I’m dying to try this mascara once it’s back in stock. It’s supposed to help your lashes grow. We love makeup that multitasks. They are also having friends and family sale where you can get 25% off this weekend.

3. Fashion: Isabelle’s Cabinet – Call On Me Black Faux Leather Shorts

The perfect fall transitional piece – leather shorts! Recently ordered these (and the sweater lol) after coming across this boutique via Instagram. #SupportSmallBusinesses

4. Book: This is How it Always is by Laurie Franke

A book that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I think everyone should read. I couldn’t say it better than this review, “Frankel has tackled this controversial topic in a warm, funny and honest way that will undoubtedly spark thought and conversation” (Star-Telegram).

5. Trend: Nail Art

The perfect example of how everything comes back in style. If you knew me when I painted One Direction on my nails…. no, you didn’t. In high school, my best friend and I would scour Pinterest for hours competing to see who could find the coolest nail design for our next trip to Nail Studio II. If you told me a year ago that nail art was going to make a comeback, I would have laughed at you. Mostly because I still cringe thinking about the slightly-too-long fake nails we used to rave over. The chevron patterns, yin and yang symbols, and (best of all) bedazzled crosses should probably be left in 2014, but nail art has proven it’s here to stay.

Love Always,

Meghan
